President’s Update – March 31, 2017
Good Afternoon.
Our membership year is ending today so by tomorrow the lock combination will be changed to the new number. If you have not renewed, or for Life Members, have not sent a copy of your NRA card, you will need to do so ASAP to continue with your membership privileges. It is better that you send your renewal information to the Secretary of the club rather than give it to someone at the club. Leaving it at the club sometimes causes unnecessary delays.
The FCI McKean training schedule is extensive this month. Starting April 3rd the range is reserved every week day in April. As always they are typically gone by 3PM so the range is reopened by then. Please respect this schedule.
Additionally, there may be a few days when the outdoor range is closed in the evening WITHOUT NOTICE. We are attempting to purchase additional property to expand our ranges and need to have the property surveyed ASAP. Our surveyor is willing to work around the FCI schedule to complete this job quickly. When he is onsite, he will post a sign inside the gate to close the range. Ignoring the Range Closed sign will not be tolerated. This does not affect the indoor range which will remain open to our members. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the future benefit outweighs the short term disruption.
April 15th is the Ham and Leek Shoot and Ax throw. Please plan to participate.
There will be a new member orientation April 22nd at 8:30 AM. If you know of interested people bring them or send them up.
The Dresser Rifle Silhouette League will be restarting on Tuesdays in Mid-April. Usually starts around 3 for the early-birds and continues through the early evening for those with a less flexible schedule. All members (and guests) are welcome.
IDPA style shooting is Thursday night with a few shooting on Tuesday. Tuesday will be limited to indoors but I would guess that Thursdays will move to outdoor scenarios sometime soon.
Wednesday evening is still for bullseye, silhouette, etc. indoors and outdoors.
Come up and join in at the club.
